Asked by Natalie Emden - Sweden -

We are planing a trip to China in the end of October, specially for Badain Jaran desert. We have about two weeks of vacation and we never been in China before and will appreciate any information and help.
From where the tours to the Badain Jaran desert starts. Will the entire tour escorted by an english speaking guide?
What's the weather like there in October, which cloth shall we take?
How many hours shall we trek each day?

Answered by CHINA GROUP TOURS Team:

Hi Natalie,

our tour starts in Beijing, but you just have a short stay before you head for Dunhuang. The actuall trekking tour starts at Eji Naqi, the entrance of the desert.
You need more than 2 weeks, because this tour lasts 19 days and you need time for the international flights to and from Beijing.

Our group will normally have 6-10 trallers and will be acompanied by an experienced english speaking guide and some local people who will take care of your meals, horses and camels en route.
September and October are the best time for visiting Badain Jaran desert. The weather is quite good, but for evening, it was quite cold in the heart of the dessert and you need winter coat.
If you have more questions, please contact us info@china-group-tours.com . Have a nice day!
